A quick Mac tip

written by Stuart on February 9th, 2006

Ok, so I didn't go to sleep. I'm going out tonight now so I'm going to battle through the sleep depravation in order to go socialise.

Anyway…

The reason for my second post today is that I found a neat little shortcut for all you mac users. If like me, you have more filetypes on your machine than you can shake a shakey thing at, then you, also like me, probably spend lots of time in the context menu using 'open with' and then choosing to apply to all files with the same extension.

Well, if when you have got the menu showing, you press the 'option' key, two menu items change, 'Open with' becomes 'Always open with' and 'get info' becomes 'Show Inspector' (presumably not Gadget).

You may already have known this, but I didn't, hopefully some of you will find it useful.
