Redesign, Realign, Whatever.

Better than the January sales

That's right, 36 degrees design has changed clothes. Call a redesign, realign, whatever you like. The site has had a complete overhaul and I'm still putting the finishing touches to it. I've also moved over to wordpress from the system I have been fighting with for a couple of years.

Feature-wise, the site hasn't changed much, same old content, with a pretty new look. The design is a natural progression and maturing of the previous incarnation, the colours and imagery have become such an integral part of the site, anything else just wouldn't work.

You might notice some fancy-pants javascript effects here and there, which as much as anything else were an educative process as-well as a space saving exercise. You may also notice the use of alpha transparent PNG's, and take in a sharp breath when you see the site in Internet Explorer. However, support for IE is on the way, as well as some accessibility improvements over the coming weeks.

Moving over from my old system, the process of transferring content was laborious to say the least, so not everything is here yet, though again, over time I will get everything moved across.

The last design lasted over six months, and a change was well due. I feel that with this design I have finally got something here that I can be completely happy with. Adding that to the stability of wordpress should mean plain sailing for the foreseeable future!

Anyway, it is almost 4am, and I need to sleep. I look forward to reading your comments.

Looks awesome here on Safari too, really digging the whole look. Good luck getting Internet Explorer to play nice though!

The navigation in Firefox 1.5 / Win it’s protruding outside the right edge, other than that it’s beautiful - nice work!

Excellent redesign, or realign, or whatever. (A rethink perhaps?)

Still love those colours and everything is easy to find.

It’s interesting - there are many uppercase titles/headers and it grabs attention without going too far.

Great stuff, Stuart.
