Ive been running 36 degrees since 1997, when it started out as an indie music community. Back then the site was attracting a lot of attention, and the fringe benefits included being invited to gigs and getting a plethora of free CDs. The site went along in this guise until 2001, when college work took over and the time I could spend working on the site wasn't sufficient.
In 2003 I decided to start operating as a freelance web designer, and 36 degrees became my portfolio site. For the last eighteen months I have working with clients to create websites, branding and graphic identities for businesses in my local area, and worldwide.
The site as you see it today is written using XHTML, CSS and PHP. I use the CutePHP news management system to update the site. The way the site is written means that it will work on all standards compliant browsers, and as such is accessible to the greatest number of people possible.
The aim of the site is to showcase the services offered by 36 degrees design, as well as providing me with a place to have my very own blog.
