Kotoba - Finally!

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

Since moving over to Mac a while back, the one thing I’ve missed more than anything else is the plethora of freeware programs out there for people who are studying Japanese. From fully blown Word Processors, to dictionaries and drill tools, there are a lot of them available on the windows platform. Until now […]

36 Degrees widget V3

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

That’s right, another update to the 36 Degrees widget for you to digest. This time it’s really a feature improvement rather than a graphical redirection.

The front of the widget now contains a search function, which when used will bring you to the results page of the site in your chosen web browser. Given the nature […]

I’m tired, no - really

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

I am so incredibly tired, if I didn’t have a lecture to go to, I would be sleeping right now. Why am I so tired I hear you howl? Ok, I’ll explain.
Yesterday, I woke up at 7:30, attended a lecture at 9am, and then took a train back to my parents house in Coventry. Pretty […]

A quick Mac tip

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

Ok, so I didn’t go to sleep. I’m going out tonight now so I’m going to battle through the sleep depravation in order to go socialise.
Anyway…
The reason for my second post today is that I found a neat little shortcut for all you mac users. If like me, you have more filetypes on your […]

The Final Solution

Sunday, February 12th, 2006

After fiddling around with front row and MediaCentral a couple of weeks ago, it was obvious that neither of them really matched my needs. The main priority was to be able to get the music from a couple of iPods playing in the lounge…

So, on a recent visit to the apple store on Regent Street, […]

Hello Stuart, This is Maureen…

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

The conversation went like this:
Me: Hello?
Her: Hello Stuart, This is Maureen from apple.
Me: Really?
Her: Yes, I’m ringing to let you know that the applecare cover on your iPod has expired.
Me: I See.
Her: Would you like to renew it for another year?
Me: No thankyou.
Her: Really, because it’s a great deal, you know, it covers virtually everything.
Me: […]

Getting smart with iTunes

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

The best part of iTunes, other than it playing host to my incredibly tasteful music collection, is it’s ability to create smart playlists. The ‘Smart’ thing is present throughout OS X, from smart folders in the finder, smart mailboxes in mail, to those in iTunes. I can’t help feeling however, that I’m not getting the […]

The Kooks

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

Watching the NME awards the other night, you could have been forgiven for thinking that other than the arctic monkeys, British music is a pile of steaming shit. When the nations ‘leading’ ‘musical paper’ nominates coldplay and Franz Ferdinand for anything more than involuntary euthanasia, it is perhaps time to question said publications credibility. I […]

Welcome to 36 Degrees Design. This website is the personal portfolio and journal of Stuart Frisby, a web designer in Liverpool, England. I create websites using the latest in web standards, and can offer you a personal service, as well as over five years of professional experience in the web design industry.

I am currently studying at John Moores University in Liverpool for a degree in International Business Studies & Japanese. I sing, play the guitar (poorly), I am a Coventry City fan, and despite that, I enjoy football, and most other sports from the comfort of an armchair.

My favourite band are Radiohead, my favourite author is H. Murakami, my favourite film is Fargo and my favourite colour is, well, blue, actually.

There is a chance that you don’t want a website at all, and that being the case, you may like to take a browse through my blog, or delve into the music section where you can download some of my material. feel free to have a good nose, and do give me a shout via the contact section if you have something on your mind.
